Etch A Sketch w/Swagger

I just had to do a post about George Vlosich and his serious Etch A Sketch skills! This was another segment from Oprah’s Incredible Feats episode. I’m pretty sure my Etch A Sketch from back in the day is at home somewhere. Unlike George, I could only draw geometric shapes. His portraits on the other hand display some serious Swagger!

Some of his creations take up to 80 hours! The above picture is of Oprah’s puppies which took him 15 to 20 hours. And apparently if you remove the powdery stuff (not sure if that is actually what it is) the picture won’t get destroyed.

Wishing everyone a weekend filled with Sassitude!

American Idol w/Swagger

Last night the top 12 guys took to the stage. I was hoping the guys would have had a stronger night than they did but hopefully it was just nerves getting the best of them. There were a few good performances though.

Casey James’ performance of Bryan Adams’, “Heaven” in my opinion had the most Swagger. It was a smart song choice for him which was a good start. It seemed like almost every guy last night made poor song choices. Plus, he managed to have the best performance of the night despite having to deal with distractions from the judges before and during his performance. Now that takes some serious Swagger!

American Idol w/Sassitude

Last night was the first live show of American Idol this season with the top 12 girls taking the stage. I thought it would be fun for me to pick the performance I thought had the most Sassitude. I wish I could post the performance itself, but Idol doesn’t allow people to post performances online.

The performance I chose was Siobhan Magnus’ rendition of Chris Isaak’s, "Wicked Game." I agree with Ellen in that while she was performing, I completely forgot that I was watching a competition. I thought she made it her own and it was mesmerizing!

Oprah's Chocolate Edible Set w/Sassitude

Yesterday Oprah did a show about Incredible Feats from a chocolate edible set. Yes – you read that correctly. This set had so much Sassitude, I don’t even know where to begin! It was made with Godiva chocolate by artists Larry Abel and Raymond McAllister. It took them 1,400 hours and over 15,000 pieces of chocolate.

The details in this are just incredible. My favorite pieces were the chess piece, the fireplace and the chandelier.

Paradise Embroidery Dress w/Sassitude

I really like this Paradise Embriodery Dress by French Connection. I love the deep pink color of the dress and the fact that it has a sheer overlay. What gives this dress Sassitude of course is the beaded embroidery. It is gorgeous and in my opinion in just the right dosage. The dress costs $248.00 - so I will be keeping my eye out for a sale.

Tiny Cupcakes w/Sassitude

These cupcakes are from Baked by Melissa. In my opinion, what gives them Sassitude is that they are so tiny and yet are packed with serious flavour! These cupcakes are simply adorable. These would be perfect for any party – as they would not be messy at all to eat. Can you believe each cupcake is basically the size of a quarter? I don’t know how she gets the flavor in there. But somehow she does!

They have nine flavors which include, Tie-Dye, Cookie Dough and Peanut Butter Cup. If you are in Soho or Union Square in NYC you can check them out for yourselves.

Wishing everyone a weekend filled with Sassitude!

Cupcake Tray w/Sassitude

I am in love with this glass cupcake tray from Target! The vintage feel gives this tray Sassitude! I think this tray would be fabulous for a sophisticated cupcake gathering. I will be keeping my eye on this for sure!

Cupcake Hand Towel and Oven Mitt w/Sassitude

I love Target! They have the cutest things and this hand towel and oven mitt I purchased recently is no exception. They have so much Sassitude! I love the color and of course the cupcake design. The crazy thing is that I found these in the section of the store where everything is incredibly cheap. Did I mention that I love Target?!

Butch Cupcakes w/Swagger

A good friend of mine brought these cupcakes to my attention. Usually cupcakes and desserts in general are very girly. I’m thinking these would be cool for the guys in our lives. The company is called Butch Bakery and as of now, the cupcakes can only be ordered for delivery within Manhattan, Brooklyn and Queens. I haven’t tasted them yet but thought the tweed, camouflage, and plaid designs give these cupcakes serious Swagger!

Cupcake Wine Label w/Sassitude

I’m declaring this week my own personal cupcake week. I’m pretty positive there will be more cupcake weeks to come. I love cupcakes and anything that has to do with them. I saw this bottle of wine and naturally had to buy it because of its label. The vineyard is actually called Cupcake Vineyards. This label has so much Sassitude! The entire label is pretty but my favorite part is of course the little cupcake at the top.

FYI – I haven’t actually tasted the wine yet : )

V-Day Dessert Spread w/Sassitude

I’m sure we are all aware that Sunday is Valentine’s Day. If you are in a relationship I hope you do something filled with Sassitude! And if you are single, you BETTER do something filled with Sassitude! It is always important to celebrate yourself!

I thought it would be nice to end the week with these yummy treats. How pretty is this dessert table by Amy Atlas for Better TV?! The key cupcakes, heart cookies and rock candy add some serious Sassitude to the spread!

Wishing everyone a weekend filled with Sassitude!

Birkin Bag Cocktail Napkins w/Sassitude

How chic are these Birkin Bag cocktail napkins?! I simply love them! Talk about cocktail napkins with Sassitude! They are by Avril Loreti and you can purchase them through her Etsy store. A set of four will cost you $26.00 – much cheaper than the actual bag! I should also mention that they are not disposable and can be washed. I have a sudden urge to round up my most stylish friends for tea or cocktails!

Knitting w/Sassitude

Recently, one of my dear friends taught me how to knit. Above is the hat I made. It is something I have always wanted to try and am very happy I did. To my surprise, I caught on pretty quickly. And as I hoped it would be, I found it to be relaxing.

I believe discovering possible new hobbies certainly lead to a life filled with Sassitude! I am envisioning get-togethers with my girlfriends filled with knitting, wine and cheese!

Monopoly w/Sassitude

Hasbro has come out with a new version of Monopoly for its 75th anniversary which will be available for purchase in the fall of 2010. They are calling it “Monopoly Revolution Addition.” I normally don’t like updated versions of most things, but I actually think this new version of an old classic has Sassitude. You play this version with an ATM and debit cards. It apparently plays clips of popular songs such as Rihanna’s “Umbrella” after certain plays are made. I for one love board game nights and think this could be a great addition. I am looking forward to checking it out in person!

The Superbowl w/Sassitude and Swagger

Yesterday was the Superbowl, which I am sure you were aware of. It is one of my favorite days of the year as I am a huge football fan. I was rooting for the Colts but must congratulate the Saints and their fans.

Aside from the team I was rooting for not winning, I had a great time watching the game with friends which I think is what gives this event a lot of Sassitude to begin with. It is an event that brings family, friends and fans together. On top of that you’ve got all of the commercials and the elaborate half time show. It is really just a spectacle in the best way possible.

I wanted to show you all this candle fixture. While it is beautiful and has a lot of Sassitude on its own, I think this is a good example of adding some simple Sassitude to an object to fit a decorating theme.

Grammys 2010 - Jennifer Nettles in Victoria Beckham w/Sassitude

1. Jennifer Nettles in Victoria Beckham

I have to be honest – I am not familiar with Jennifer’s music. But this dress was my fave of the night and she worked it out on stage with Bon Jovi! The other surprise for me was that Victoria Beckham designed this! I know Victoria is a designer but I guess I just haven’t paid much attention to her designs till now. I will rectify this.

Red, pink and anything in the turquoise/teal family are among my favorite colors – so I obviously love the color of this dress. I think red adds instant Sassitude to just about anything - especially clothing. This was another dress that balanced elegant and geometric/abstract perfectly. I think this dress takes it one step further in that the top of it also looks very strong and sturdy without removing too much femininity from the overall look. And the black outlines flatter her already fantastic figure. She was the stunner of the night for me!

Wishing everyone a weekend filled with Sassitude!

Grammys 2010 - Beyonce in Stephane Rolland w/Sassitude

2. Beyonce in Stephane Rolland

I actually had a hard time trying to decide if this should be my number one pick or not. For me the deciding factor was that I love everything about the dress except for the zipper in the front. But I love everything else so much that I am willing to let the front zipper slide. Don’t you just hate it when you look at a dress or shirt and just wish there wasn’t that one thing that was a deal breaker?

Now back to what I love about it. I love that Beyonce chose to wear a dress with sleeves when most of the women went sleeveless. I think going against the grain in a fashionable way definitely shows some Sassitude. I love the geometric, contoured detailing on the dress. Even though there are a lot of shapes going on I think it gives the dress a lot of Sassitude. I think the geometric look of it also balances out the demure pale pink color of the dress. Beyonce looks gorgeous!

Grammys 2010 - Carrie Underwood in Georges Chakra w/Sassitude

3. Carrie Underwood in Georges Chakra

This dress accomplishes the perfect blend of being dainty and having Sassitude. Obviously the bottom is dainty and the top has Sassitude. What really makes this dress for me is the geometric/abstract neck. It could have made her look uncomfortable but instead she seems very comfortable in it. She looks pretty and elegant with just the right amount of edge for the Grammys!

Grammys 2010 - Pink in Tony Ward Haute Couture w/ Sassitude

4. Pink in Tony Ward Haute Couture

I honestly can’t picture anyone else wearing this dress. It is gorgeous! Sometimes a dress that is predominately gray can be somewhat of a downer. But not in this case! I love the scalloped tiers that go from light gray to black. I actually think it adds more Sassitude to the mermaid silhouette (which already has plenty of Sassitude on its own). I also love the jeweled band at the waist and the jeweled bust line. Pink has never looked more stunning! And I can’t ignore the amazing performance she gave – it was breathtaking!

Grammys 2010 - Lea Michele in Romona Keveza w/Sassitude

I’m sure many of us were aware that last night were the Grammy Awards. Needless to say I will be picking my five favorite red carpet dresses this week.

5. Lea Michele in Romona Keveza

Lea Michele has been three for three this awards season. And each time she has displayed a new look successfully. I simply love this mini dress. The sheer one-shoulder overlay and feathered skirt give this dress some fun flirty Sassitude! She looks absolutely sexy and adorable at the same time!
